6 Reasons Transformation Programs Work

August 1, 2016

When you're looking to make some changes to your body or lifestyle, a transformation program is great way to go. You can believe me, blindly follow and sign up here (I'm serious, click there to sign up) or read the rest of this to learn why. I talk a lot; you might as well save yourself sometime and click there now.

Yes, transformation programs can sound cheesy or maybe you have had a bad experience in the past. You might even have to work together as a team and talk to someone. How awful! You can make a list of reasons why not to do one [also known as excuses] but there are far more great reasons why you should do one! If you want to change your body then…

You gotta buy in. Most transformation programs don't come free, and that's actually a good thing for you. When you spend your hard-earned money on something, you are more likely to get all you can out of it. You have a little extra reasoning to fully participate and work harder towards your goal. Might as well, you already paid for it. Gotta have some skin in the game!

Accountability is key. Having someone or something hold you accountable will push you to get things done. With transformation programs you usually have a team, a personal trainer, a nutritionist, or other people who are encouraging you to keep going and keep working. Knowing there are workouts each week, or weigh ins, or you have to send someone your food logs keeps you on track with making the right decisions towards what you're trying to achieve.

Friendly competition is an awesome motivator. Everyone likes to win. I’m no scientist, but I’m pretty sure that’s a fact. When there's a prize involved; bragging rights, cash money, a trip to Hawaii, whatever; you can go the extra mile to stick to your plan and work towards your goals. Why not skip out on dessert or hit the gym an extra day a week if there’s a chance you can win $500?

You can track your progress. Having certain parameters that you’re tracking will keep you heading in the right direction. When you’re on your own, what do you track? A program has a specific route that you can follow and keep up with along the way. Whether you’re looking at weight, body fat, circumference, steps, physical activity, calories, feelings, (the list can go on) you are directed and measured. If you aren’t seeing results going in a certain trend, you’ll know how you can make some changes.

There are professionals involved. As a health and fitness professional, I know somebody else needs to do my taxes if I want it done properly. It works the same way when it comes to your health and fitness. Leave it to the pros! Let those who have education and experience create the program so you don’t have to think about it. All you have to do is sign up and show up, you’ll learn the rest from them.

There's an end in sight. I’m not saying that there’s an end to being healthy, but the end of the program will make it more feasible. Yes, I can work out at least three days a week for the next two months, but for the rest of forever? I have no idea! Forever is an overwhelming length of time, and I just don’t want to think about it! Having a shorter, specific timeline makes the stress of change seem more manageable. In that time you’ll develop healthy habits that will hopefully stay with you forever, but you don’t need to know that, it’s only two months!

So ditch the excuses, commit yourself and embrace the cheesy! Get in the best shape of your life, and have fun doing it by joining in a transformation challenge.  How convenient, we have one starting this September… did I do that on purpose?
